…What does that funny little Icon mean?

RSS means: “Really Simple Syndication”. There are many websites who display these icons in various places on their pages.   This is just a simple way that you can find out about updates to a site without having to visit the site in your web browser on a regular basis.

By clicking on this button located on this site or any others, you are are just saying that you want to subscribe and want to know when I will be posting new pages or blogs without having to check everyday.  Not that I would be doing that everyday, but there are sites that do post everyday such as news sites.   The standard icon looks like this:   or something like that because obviously from the icons above, there is no set rule aside from the dot and two curved lines….all the rest is “every artist for himself or herself”.  I had fun with this site after “Google-ing” Free RSS Icons…I was buried in pages of the most creative things to be done with a dot and two curved lines one could ever imagine!  Also, you may see buttons with just RSS or XML

All these links and buttons mean the same thing “this is your opportunity to save yourself some time by clicking on my RSS Button!” That is all, no one is going to track you down and you can cancel your subscription at anytime.  You can even have RSS’s emailed so you do not even have to open your browser.

If this was enough information for you, then by all means, click on the RSS Cantaloupe for email or other updates of your choice with this website.  I sure would love for you to come back and visit as Scott will be traveling around the world and it will take more than 80 days with many more posts of his visited countries and cities.  So stay in Touch!

I will also be creating some icons myself.  The one with the man/woman is one of my first that I created today.  When I have the time, I will get even more creative…just you wait, oh, that is right, you will know if you have an RSS with this site.

If the information I provided was not enough, then by all means…Google It!  You will have many choices, how do you think I learned about RSS?
